The first post of this blog will dive into refactoring a real-life code snippet for readability and simplicity while simultaneously improving performance by up to 50x. This kicks off the everyday performance series, where I’ll try to refute the claim that (reasonably) performant code always comes with a tradeoff in maintainability or readability.
